Having originally opened in 1924 as the Fortune Thriller Theatre, the Fortune Theatre is one of the smallest in the West End, currently with 432 seats. It was the first theatre to be constructed following World War One and was donw so on the site of an old public tavern. The Fortune Theatre is a Grade II-listed building and has hosted lots of popular productions such as The Murder in the Vicarage which had a long run. Its most successful play however, is Susan Hill's The Woman in Black which first opened in 1989 and is still going very stong today.
