The Harold Pinter Theatre opened im 1881 as the Comedy Theatre. It was only in 2011 that the name of the venue changed to honour the recently deceased famous playwright, whose work has been a large influence in the history of this particular theatre.

Plays and musicals that have been staged here include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Rocky Horror Show and Sunset Boulevard.
